2wd drive chassis are pretty much the same from 65-72. You should be able to direct swap between those with no issues.
In 73 Ford added 4" to the rear of the cab behind the cab mounts adding the length under the bed. One can use the 73-79 chassis in a swap but will have to deal with the 4".
The article left out another option for the 2" that needs compensated for. Put the outer skins from the bump on the dent box adding 2" to the front. It would be another virtually unnoticable. If me I think I would split the difference as in the first option listed. You can play with wheelbase a bit without anyone noticing. I lengthened mine when I did the suspension swaps to get a little bit better ride. Longer wheelbase gives a better ride. I didn't add much but I did add to it. About an inch to the front and another 1/2" or so to the rear.
hey guys, thanks for all the info but i think it too much work for me. lol. I only asked because I can get the dent frame a lot easier than i can find a bump frame. Guess i'll jus keep lookin for a bump. thanks guys
