Engine swap
I have a 1994.5 Powerstroke that needs a engine.
I found a 1994 Turbo diesel .
Is there anyway I could put that motor in instead of a Powerstroke?
Would it be possibly and what all problems does everyone think I would run into?

I think for a swap like that you would have to find a donor truck. I am guessing that you would need the PCM, the engine, wiring harnesses, possibly the motor mounts, and I'm not sure what the tach in an IDI runs off of, but I would think you would have to deal with that as well. Sounds like a lot of work to me.

The idi only has one wire to run it. The engine mounts are the same. The PCM might need to be changed to make it shift right. All the dash gauges will be wrong. I just put a powerstroke in a idi last summer and tried to see what would work with what
