engine swap

I have a 1992 f250,2wd.auto ,5.8 , 120,000 miles,rebuilt trans and other new parts.Truck runs solid but was a fleet truck which I drove since new,problem is I have always hated the leg room and std cab..I have found a few ext cabs close to same year with bad motors and/or trans,can someone tell me what years of pu would be a clean easy engine swap.

Any year. Just take your bare engine, strip all the electronics off it, and then put all the wiring and electronics from the new truck onto your good motor.

Assuming that you have an E4OD trans that you want to move to the new truck, you'll have to pay attention to solenoid pack compatibility as well if you go to a newer truck (94?+). I'm not certain in specifics but some searching should find the answers if someone else doesn't chime in.
