429 INSTALL
GOOD EVENING, LOOKING TO INSTALL 429 INTO '76 F150 4X4 THAT I HAVE PULLED THE 360 OUT OF. WHAT DO I NEED IN TERMS OF MOTOR MOUNTS/BRACKETS ETC. I KNOW I NEED TO CHANGE TRANS TO FIT BELLHOUSING PATTERN, MY TRUCK IS AN AUTO. THE AUTO TRANS THAT IS WITH THE MOTOR IS OUT OF A MERCURY CAR, CAN I USE PARTS FROM MY EXISTING C-6 TO MAKE INSTALL WORK ? TAIL SHAFT ETC. ETC. THANKS YOU GUYS ARE ALWAYS A BIG HELP. JEFF

Hey Jeff this is Matt (the kid with the engine). Ive been doing some looking also and seen this and figured if nothing else i would bump it back up.
Any how i did a quick search here and it sounds like you should be able to use the motor mount perches from a 4x4 with the 400 engine and they should bolt right in and accept the 429. I would think these should be easy to find, nothing else i might know where i could find a set.
As far as the trans goes i found this thread

Asking about the same question and it sounds like it output shafts and tail housing can be swapped but it might require going into the transmission a ways, but it sounds like you have a transmission expert connection so that might not be an impossibility.
Then there would be exhaust and linkage and all that other little stuff that seems to never end. Hope this helps a little. or at least brings it up to the top so somebody that does know can answer.
