Code on Mariner
Recently had check engine light come on. Autozone checked code P144a could not find in their book told me to check with dealer. After some research think might be Evaporative Emission Canister purge valve according to a ford tsb. Anyone else had this issue?

Not to be a wet blanket, but this fault is likely to be beyond the scope of the casual DIYer as it requires special test equipment and procedures. AutoZoners certainly won't be of much help.
The possible good news is that the evaporative emissions warranty might still be in effect, depending on the age and mileage of your unidentified Mariner. See your warranty paperwork....

You didn't say what Mariner it is.

ISSUE:
Some 2009-2010 F-150, 2009-2011 Expedition, Navigator, E-Series, Escape Hybrid, Mariner Hybrid, 2010-2011 Fusion Hybrid, Milan Hybrid, 2011 MKZ Hybrid and F-Super Duty 250/350 equipped with a 6.2L enigne and built on or before 11/1/2010, may exhibit a running rough concern, hard start after refueling, audible clicking noise under the hood and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0316, P144A, P1450, P017X, P044X, P045X.
This is a tsb (technical service bulletin, not to be confused with a recall!) to replace the Canister Purge Valve thats located on the left hand side of the intake manifold. Its part of the EVAP system. Mines been clicking loudly non stop at random times for a month or so. I will replace it when I get a chance, so figured I would give people a heads up.

HX49 DTC P144A: CHECK FOR A BLOCKED FUEL VAPOR TUBE BETWEEN THE FTP SENSOR AND THE FUEL TANK
�� Ignition OFF.
�� Remove the fuel vapor tube assembly. Refer to the Workshop Manual Section 303-13, Evaporative
Emissions.
�� Visually inspect the fuel vapor tube for a blockage between the FTP sensor and the connection to the fuel
tank or fuel pump module.
�� Visually inspect the connection at the fuel tank or fuel pump module for a blockage.
�� Attempt to manually remove the blockage.
Is the blockage visible and can be removed?
�� Yes
REMOVE the blockage. INSTALL the Fuel Vapor Tube assembly. REFER to the Workshop Manual Section 303-13, Evaporative Emissions.
CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
�� No
INSTALL a new Fuel Vapor Tube assembly. REFER to the Workshop Manual Section 303-13, Evaporative Emissions.
CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
