Question PS Set-up on a 390 FE

I am installing a power steering unit on a 74 F100 with a 390 FE that came with only a one sheave crankshaft pulley and one sheave waterpump pulley.
My questions are:
Do I buy a 2 sheave for the waterpump or crankshaft ?
Can another one sheave crankshaft pulley be bolted to the existing one ?

Thanks

I just looked on my truck, the power steering belt goes around both water pump and crank.I am pretty sure you can not add a sheave to an existing sheave. On my truck both are one piece sheaves.

My crank, water pump, and alternator have two-groove pulleys. The PS pump is driven by a separate bolt-on pulley bolted in front of the crank pulley and uses a dedicated belt. The pulley behind the fan spacer is supposed to be for an air pump which my rig no longer needs so it is just along for the ride.

Sorry for the rotated pic.

If you don't have a/c then the original setup was a single belt drove the water pump and alternator, and a single belt drove the p/s pump.
Here's a not too clear picture of my original setup.
The alt., water pump and p/s are all single shieve, the crankshaft pulley was a double shieve.
Also, the p/s pulley was different between a/c and non-a/c trucks.

Single belt Crank-Power Steering

Josh, I really liked the way your old truck sounded at idle. Seeing that picture of the engine brought back a good memory. I was going for that sound when I went through my 390, did not quite get a big enough cam.

That dual quad 428 is now in a 1950 Ford street rod.
