12 volt fans

okay folks, summer is coming (yuck !) and it will soon be rather warm out. Does anyone know of where I can purchase some small 12VDC electic fans ? I would like to place one on the dash or hang it from the inside of the cieling to blow right on my face. If I can cool off my face a bit, the rest of me can tolerate the warm weather a bit better. Any suggestions ? DF

Well, I know where I can get a whole truck load of them.
There is a guy at a local flea market that sells these things.
The mount with a slide-on and they have a *stay* or *oscillating* function .

Have you looked at the store here ?

West Marine has a whole selection. They have a lot of local stores, plus, a web site. Any heavy truck store. The good fans run about $50 and can use up to 10 amps. The sunroofs with a fan are a good option too ($150).

Did you check J.C. Whitney. That have all kinds off odd-ball stuff like that.

Why not just buy a few computer,"pancake fans." Run on 12Vdc and only cost a few bucks.

> pancake fans

Though a pancake fan might seem okay right in front of you, the thing that really matters is pressure coupled with volume. Sometimes a blower of some sort is better than a 12v fan.

Saw some in Walmart the other day, kind of the style that you'd see on a older school bus.
