Transmission temps vary wildly with driving/towing conditions and weather. I experienced my highest temps pulling a travel trailer in town stop and go traffic. I installed Autometer GS gauges here's a link https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...in-my-v10.html

I too worried after installing the gauge that it was not working, especially in the winter. During the summer pulling the race car trailer around it would easily hit 210 in town then cool to 190 ish on the hwy.
