While waiting for my gauges I wanted to check the temp on my trans. The only setting I see on AE is for transmission fluid temperature but it is in volts...anyone know how to convert?
Doesn't work for our trucks all it does is either cold, operating, or your screwed atleast thats what I have always been told and it shows up on the AE the same way
I have version 8 and only saw TFT volts in the drop down menu for my 2001. Just had AE hooked up on Saturday. Conversion chart that I have in my ATSG manual is from ohms to *F. I haven't checked my Ford dvd manual for V-*F conversion chart.
I think the AE just doesn't offer the proper conversion in its software. Just like there is coolant temp shown, but it doesn't read it properly. EOT reads fine.

I think it's the same type of 0-5V sending unit as any aftermarket electric temp gauge. I know I'm pulling my temp readings off the factory sender it's pretty accurate, within 5 degrees.
As for AE, couldn't say if it converts to give a temperature reading, never used it before.
I was working on a friend's '02 this afternoon and found that I could read TFT on it. I hooked back up to my truck and configured for an '01 and the option was available on th drop down menu. I guess I may have just overlooked it the other day. Reads the TFT fine.
