Mine are out and ive searched and found that those lights have a 10a fuse under the hood. Even the manual I've downloaded verifies this. Apparently it's the fuse box next to the distribution box. In my manual it shows that there are 6 mini fuses of different amps in this box. But in mine there are no mini fuses, only square black ones and it's a total of like 10. In the manual it shows fuse number 3 for the cd player, but when removed the cd keeps playing so I know I'm in the wrong place. I know this is so simple I'm making it hard, but any help is appreciated. 98 gator.
Do you have one more box farther into the corner? There is a total of 3 boxes on the expy, likely the same on the gator.
Man, Thanks!! I really do not know if I would have ever spotted that thing seing as how its flushed with the sidewall and half an inch wide! lol
Too bad the fuse was good tho . With the interior lights on and all 4 running board lights out I just knew it was the fuse! oh well I found a ton of threads about replacing the bulbs, might as well go back and find them. Thanks again!

That mini fuse supplies power to the Running Board Lamp Relay. It is located above the glove compartment and the passenger side air bag.
Should be a black/16pin connector under the air filter box which is between the relay output and the RB lamps. Pin 7 (white with red stripe wire) should be hot when the relay pulls in.
The RB lamps share a ground with a number of items that you don't seem to be having issues with. And having all four lamp sockets go bad at once is not typical.
Thanks for that bit of info! I'll give it a go in the morning. Now how do I get to those relays, let the glove box down? (this is inside the truck correct)
