4.9l engine help

i have a 86' bronco with 4.9l and one day going down the freeway it caught fire under the air cleaner and ever since then it hasn't started but it turns over iv'e rebuilt the carb and that didn't help (i didn't expect it to help i was just hopeing)and i was wondering if any one has any suggestions about what to check, replace,etc.

Melted, burnt, or missing vacuum lines. Fire will destroy them rapidly. I assume you have fuel at the venturi(s) and good strong spark.

Iv'e ckecked the hoses and wires and they seem to be intact and i haven't even thought about checking the spark man i feel stupid

when my 85 overheated it would do the same thing, turn but not start..... we just replaced the distributer and she started right up....

cool thanks i haven't checked to see if there is spark yet but if there isn't i'll try that (probly this weekend after school and work and after i get paid i also have to charge my battery)
