What do you mean by "how is it"? I've driven one with a 5 speed, it's pretty much the same as in a pickup. Lots of torque, but doesn't like to rev too much. But I rarely see a Bronco with one (or a stick for that matter :-( ).
I had an 84 with a 300 4speed, and 4x4. That was a power house. I towed a 27ft camper across the midwest. I got 350k out of it. It still didn't break, but sold it to buy new bronco.
i dont think they put a 300 i-6 in the 92-96 broncos but i know there in the 87-91s cuz i was going to buy one and they were in the 78-79 and 80-86s also. should be identical to a truck, maybe a little qwicker due to a little less weight? but its all the same in the end.
I own a 85 Bronco with the 300 I6, 4 spd. For low end torque, I wouldn't trade it for anything. For highway towing here in Colorado/ Wyoming (high altitude) it is a real dog. I tow a 14 ft. deep v fishing boat, which weighs maybe 800 lbs. with trailer and load. I also tow a small pop up camper, which probably weighs around 1600 lbs. fully loaded.

92 was the last year of the 300 in Broncos. The 302 went standard in 93. I don't think 78-79 offered it, just the 351m and 400.
my 86 has a bone stock 4.9L matted to a three speed W/OD and i love it! i pulled my work truck( a 92 GMC topkick with a 1000 gal tank on the back) out of the mud! i was in 4lo and first gear but that top kick was REALLY stuck and can weigh around 30,000 lbs.!!! didnt hurt my bronco at all!
Bent pushrods? How did that happen? I ask because one just bent over the other day- it was a fairly new head with newer lifters and cam. Don't know how it happened.
