Ok, i've searched and searched, and couldn't find my answer. I'm looking at a Zone leveling kit for my 2000 F250 CC 4x4, and from what I read most ppl are getting 2-1/2 to 3" of lift after install. I don't want more than 2-1/2", and my front leaves are in pretty good shape. Can I remove the bottom leaf from the zone leaf pack and lift the truck 2"? It looks like it has 5 leaves that are about 1/2" thick each = total 2.5" (remove 1, equals 2" thick).
Has anyone done this? I figure I can put the leaf back in later on if I want that 1/2" back.
FWIW, I like the raked look and I'll be going with a 4" block in the rear.
Also, one more question, has anyone had alignment issues after leveling? Has anyone just leveled their truck and NOT get it aligned?
I haven't done it with the Zone kit.
But it will work as you are theorizing. Maybe not affect the lift exactly the thickness of the leaf if there is any curvature to the leaf, but close.
On a leaf sprung truck, adding lift this way will not affect camber or toe at all, and is very unlikely to affect caster to a noticeable amount.
THanks for the feedback. My alignment guy "hates" lift kits, but I don't know if he fully understands the type of lift this is. I would think it would align very similar to an f350 with X springs and 4" rear blocks.
