I will be purchasing a leveling kit for a 2001 f-250 super cab v10 with heavy service suspension pkg. have looked at superlift and rancho, i will be going with the rancho dual frt shock kit and the rancho traction bars for the rear axle. but should i go with the rancho leveling kit which supplies new front springs or go with superlift that gives u lowering brackets for the stock springs.
Orrrr, is there a better package out there, your help is greatly appreciated.

Personally I like the Fabtech 3.5" leveling/lift. You replace the spring brackets up front(not a drop shackle) and you can add the 2" blocks in the rear if you need to (provided in the kit). So overall you get level with some lift to boot. The factory ride is maintained because your still using the OEM springs. And the complete kit runs about $350 I think. The new brackets are heavy and bolt directly to the frame. I don't have this kit because it would give me to much lift for a parking garage I use. But I researched many of them and found the price and end result hard to beat. Some report being able to install 305's for sure and 315's for some with slight rubbing.
Good Luck,
Rob

Hey jcool, I have a 2001 F250 SD that I wanted to lift a little bit too. Here in Illinois I found an add a leaf kit that has 1 long thin leaf that gives you about 1"+ lift without giving you a rough ride like some. If you want more lift they have "short leafs" that you can add to the pack to get up to 3" lift. The short leafs bolt to your spring pack with the center bolt so they won't come out like a lift block. Personally I found that the front pack could use a little help as I have been expieriencing front end wheel hop in low traction situations, and that is not good. I added enough to get about 2 1/2" to the front and you can barely tell the added spring is in there. Have'nt been anywhere to see if the wheel hop problem is still there though. The springs cost me $121 just for the springs, the "short springs" I made myself as they look like they are just steel spacers. All you need to buy is longer u-bolts, spring bolts, and springs, allthough I have access to a machine shop where I got the spacers. I could maybe ship you some if you are interested, I can ship UPS from where I work. Well that ought to give you something to think about. Good luck.
