Being that the suspension is pretty much the same, I have a 4" lift on my truck and 35" tires. We had a 2" leveling kit with the 35s, but they rubbed on the wheel well liners alittle. I agree, pick up a leveling kit for the 33s. If you really want 4" of lift, I've been happy with my ProComp front leaves, bilstien shocks and rear blocks.
the 2000 excurison has the negtive arch springs up front. if i put a level kit in the front wont that just be a add-a leaf. what if my springs are to far gone for the add-a leaf. do the make a level kit with new front spring pack?
I dont know if your springs are warn out but what ever ride you have now... it wont change. Thats the reason for such short springs. At least thats what they clame.
The other day I jacked up the front of my X 2 inches just to see what it was going to look like with the lift. I measured it from tire to tip of wheel well. I have a 4x4 V10 and from 33 inch tire to wheel well was exactly 7.5 inches of clearance. I am hoping to get 9.5 inches of wheel well clearance. That would be just enough for what I am looking for.
have a 2000 ex with v10. looking for 3-4'' lift just want to put 33x12.50 on it nothing to big. what would be the best lift for this app.
To fit 33" tires, 2 or 3 inches should do it.
Basically, you have the following choices or combinations of choices:
2" or 3" body lift
mini pack lift or add-a-leaf (front or rear)
blocks (rear only)
shackle lift and/or hanger lift for front (2" upto 8" for custom)
shackle flip or reversal for the rear (4.5" made by Sky Manufacturing).
There are really lots of options. Another option is to just trim the fenders a bit and go with 33x10.5 tires on stock rims.
If you want cheap and simple, I would just opt for a 2" front shackle lift, and minor trim the edge of fenders as needed to fit 33" tires. The rear should be fine as is. Shackle lift for such would be well under $100. Depending on the type of shocks you have, you may want to take this time to upgrade to newer, longer shocks as well.
Ya but with a shackle you have to realine the front end and that get some new hardware to do it because stock wont work which cost you alot more money in the long run....
Yes, they came out of a F250 Diesel with plow package. I put them in because I have a 7.5' plow. I'm taking them off in a couple weeks and replacing them with a 6" BDS lift. If you are interested in them let me know.
