4x4 problems

hey so i just bought a 2008 F-350SD lariat crew w/ 4" skyjacker lift, anyways we had our first snowfall today and i went to switch in to 4WD on the dash switch, the light turned on (4x4 high) but rear wheels sill spun out and nothing engaged. Before i pay money to fix anything does anyone know what this problem may be? thanks

Not sure if you have the same system as my 04 but my vacuum line cracked going to the hubs so it wouldnt engage. Can you hear the transfer case motor shifting?

If your heat turned to defrost then you have a vacumn leak.

You can still go around to the hubs and turn them to lock them in.

There's no shift thud or sound what so ever from the transfer case just the light.

Put it to the floor and then switch the 4x4 on and if it immediately goes to defrost then your vacumn leak is somewhere from the solienod under the hood to the front hubs.

So then you can start at the hubs and check the vacumn lines. Work your way backwards.
