Metal in frame filter
New high pressure pump & new motor, new fuel rails . My first fuel filter change and I have found the worst trash in filter (looks like metal) since I have had the truck from new! Top filter looked good, Changed filters every 6,000 miles to 7,000 miles. Never looked like this , even when pump failed. I am taking sample to dealer in am.

You said the fuel bowl was clean? Did you shine a light real good into the bowl?
I think I'd be afraid to start it. Think I'd have it towed and flushed.

Did you pull the filter to get that trash or did that come out of the drain before you pulled the filter?

Drain was clear, I washed it out of the lid after removing filter.
