Ok I just found out I have 4 bad injectors on my '04 F350 with 133,000 miles, 2, 3, 4 and 6. I plan on doing all 8 myself, I just don't know if I should buy new or reman injectors. What are some of your takes on this matter? Any input would be great thanks
Actually all the motorcraft are reman's but not all reman's are created equal. You'll get the best performance with Motorcraft IMHE. Shop Ebay. I got a great price on a whole set. Alliant would be my second choice but they still have some failures.
Be sure to ask yourself why 4 bad injectors. Is your oil cooler working properly etc. Would suck to replace all 8 and then have more go out due to an underlying issue.
The last 10 months of my life have been super stressful due to this.
How did you find out 4 were bad
Did you run a cylinder balance test or something or is this coming from a shop
How many miles do the injectors have on them
If you had 4 bad ones I dont think it would even run
If the truck is eating injectors they could be suffering from low fuel pressure go with the Blue fuel spring upgrade too
I hear some places off the internet are ify like ebay
Might try Ford parts guy ed or tousley there are a couple other places that were qua;ity rebuilds but I cant remember who
Maybe I should have told you guys the whole story, I had a shop do a diagnosis on the truck, testing fuel pressure, (55 psi) and FICM voltage, (49 volts) The injectors in question are not firing when the engine is cold, and it runs fine when warmed up. I poured some rev-x in after an oil change, it got a little better but it still hestitates when cold. I also plan on replacing the stand pipes and dummy plugs while I'm in there.

I've never heard of an oil cooler being the main cause for injector failure. Now if you've got coolant in the oil...I can see the water causing havoc on the injectors. But the injectors wouldn't be the only thing failing because of the coolant in the oil.
Maybe one of the infamous techs on here can explain/confirm an oil cooler killing injectors.
