Question stage 2 injectors

Good morning guys. I was looking on craigslist and found some stage 2 injectors for a 7.3, he said he sent them in for a test and 5 are good and 3 need a new tip. They are 160cc doesnt say what year truck they were in. He is asking 600. Is this a good deal? How much to get the 3 fixed and what questions should i ask? Thank you.

Ask who made them. Call the manufacture and see if those injectors were at his shop. Sounds strange to me that the guy with the injectors would send them in to be tested, find out they are bad and not fix them. Then try to sell them.

Edit. I know guys around my way that modify stock injectors. They are total sh#t.

Always be careful when it comes to injectors. I think a reman set of stage 1s can be had for around $1200

Read Tugly's adventure with remans...too much for me. You could be entering a real world of pain. If/when I have to do injectors they will be new Alliant's ($213 each).

I wouldn't be afraid of remans. Just make damn sure you have a reputable builder. Swamps, full force diesel ect.

I was wondering why my ears were burning. Reputable shops have Monday mornings too... that's what happened to me. For me to go remanned ever again, they have to be more than reputable... they need to be desired over new. There are two shops that I know of that reman sticks to better-than-new... Farmers and Rosewood. They don't sell sticks... you send yours in to them and wait for the injectors to return.

I wouldn't touch those sticks: "What is their flow?" That's the first question the tuner will ask you. How will you get the other 3 to match these 5? What did he do to bust the nozzles... bad fuel? Air in fuel? These 5 escaped harm... or just survived?

OT but does rosewood have a flowbench? I know for a long time he was building sets w/out flowing them..

I know he builds good stuff but I was always cautious about that..

I didn't deal with them directly... but I've talked with and read about a number of happy customers. The one that gets the serious modders salivating is Farmers.

That's who is building mine! Everyone I talked to and said I burn WVO cried like little kids not getting their way. Started ranting off misinformation about WVO use and overall left a bad taste with me. I called farmers and told him I burn. "The Grease" and his reply was I don't care what you burn.

He asked my filtering technique I explained it and he said good to go.

That how this should be.

Tug,
I've been off FTE for a few months. Can you recap what happened with you FF injectors?

Your kidding... Right?

I'm unable to poke too much at others because I inepticisized Stinky pretty good on my own. Let's just say the remans were not for me, but I was very unlucky through the whole upgrade process. FFD has fantastic customer support... I'd deal with them again.

Hmm...

Do you think "new" injectors would have really made a difference? So FF has excellent CS but poor QC??? or maybe just bad luck?

Matt from GH recommends Unlimited Diesel. I couldn't find your "Farmers" injectors on the interweb...
