351 mod

Hey guys i have a 68/71 f100 ranger w/ 351w. Edelbrock perfrmer intake and 600cfm edelbrock carb. Gt40 heads? Tight budget. What should i do? Cam, gears, heads? Thanks guys.i did a search so crabby "do a search guys" dont reply!! Thanks

Just want more power, engine run great. But basically stock. Im a fabricator and body guy, just want some of your thought to help me.

Every stock motor needs a cam.. badly, this is the single biggest bang for your buck upgrade you can make. My suggestion would be something like the Comp Cams 35-238-3.

conaski is right on cam is a must i would also reccomend roller timing chain while your at it and if any $$ left after that a set of headers.

I would have to make custom headers, my truck is super low. Its a challenge i would like to tackle though!!!!

another thing u might want to do is port the heads if you already havent already.I ported the heads on my sons pure stock pulling truck with a kit from eastwood was about 50 bucks and that included the air tool nothing fancy just slicked up the exhaust ports real good and gasket match the intake and exhaust.

Yeah i will just do the cam and gears. Dont haul with it, its toy and summer ride.
