HVAC Vacuum pump...SAVE $$

I just recently bought my truck and the AC would only come out the defroster vents.
Well, after some reading on this forum and checking some electrical, I found the vacuum pump to be at fault. I wanted to double check everything first.
I called Ford and they wanted $145. With my friends employee discount is was still $106.
The guy at the parts counter said to look it up under the dorman brand and I found it for $48 online. I ordered it and received it today. Everything now works perfect.
For those interested, it is Dorman part# 904-214. Lifetime warranty and 1/3 the price.
THANKS AGAIN TO THIS FORUM AND ITS MEMBERS FOR ALWAYS HAVING THE ANSWERS !

bismic,
no disrespect, but you did have the wrong part number.

This replaces the following part #'s
6C3Z-2A451-A
6C3Z-2A451-BA
4C3Z-2A451-BA
F81Z-2A451-BA

Apparently my number (4C2Z2A451AA) was for the e-series.

All your other numbers have been superceded by 6C3Z-2A451-A.

I believe the E-series all used the old fashioned belt driven pump and vacuum assist brakes. Which, if true, would explain why the pump is much more costly.
