What are the advantages and disadvantages of removing the soup bowl ,Thanks

 

Benefit of removing it: More air flow

Not removing it: tuck is less powerful because it has less air.

Just remove it!!

 

Increase of engine noise will result..DO IT!

It was a very satisfying removal, grinder came in handy.

how much louder is it with the soup bowl removed? id like some more noise and is a deep sound or a screaming?

 

If you put a turbo on it then you can have a really nice whistling noise out your intake.

i would think that it would make the intake noise more of a growl. i just did a cowl intake on my truck and it makes a much bigger growl now.

 

id love a turbo but cant afford it as a college guy. a nice growl would be nice to get some granola munchers in VT sending some words my way, but as of right now im spending the change on my DD jeep cherokee im building

 

I did that & could not hear the difference. Truck runs the same as before.

 

I got around to removing the soup bowl and its not to muc hlouder with the hood closed but with it open HOLY HELL its loud. And I can hear a slight knocking sound with it removed but its just from the changed air flow and less restriction
