Noticed today that there is water coming in my cab. No smell of anti-freeze. It's coming in through the air recirculation vent at passengers foot area. Looking up in vent I can see moisture inside. Any ideas?
I am sure you have read on here about the windsheilds leaking on the drivers side and popping fuses.Maybe a leaking seal?
I am just glad it is not the heater core.
I'm possitive it's not the heater core and pretty sure it's not a leaking windshield. It almost seems like after the ac having been on and the condensation melting away. But for some reason it's going into the air ducting right by the squirrel cage fan then draing into the cab through the recirc vent. It's a musty smelling water too. And as far as the windshield goes I drove for an hour to and from destinations today with no rain, defroster was on so that means ac was too. I think it is linked to that. There was no other moisture to be entering cab present.
If you remove your blower motor, under hood passenger's side on the firewall, you can see the "pan" that the HVAC drains into.
Another possibility would be the cowl vent drain, it's on that side of the truck too, since it's fall it's possible some "crud" clogged up that vent as well. The cowls can be removed with a few phillips screws after removing the wiper arms.

Thanks Alan, I will have to check those. I'm just glad it's not the heater core.
Update, haven't found anything solid yet. Mainly. Ecause it hasn't happened again. I'm beginning to wonder if it was moisture from rain the previous day. I loaded a couple of boxes of goose decoys in my cab while it was raining pretty hard. One of the boxes was quite wet and dripped a conciderable amount of water on pass side. The. next day I drove for about an hour with defroster on, whitch means the ac was on to help dry air out in cab and the defroster recircs air. I'm thinking it may have just been too much moisture and spilled back out the recirc vent. That's all I can come up with. I will keep an eye on it.
Isn't there the airvent opening under the passenger side windshield wipers. Debris may have gotten into the vent and is allowing water to flow over to the opening above the dash., which I think is over a little farther over from the outside vent opening. Happened on my car with mushed up leaves and junk. With the heavy rain, this points to that. imo
It's possible. I haven't had any rain since I first noticed. It's going to rain today though, I'll check again. Also it was not raining when the water was coming in.
