on my coil tower on my 1976 f150 4x4 the top bolt for the shock broke it has a hexagon shape and it looks like a bolt but it also looks like it was ripped out that way where can i find a new one or can i just weld it back thanks?
Here is the illustration from the Ford parts catalog.

Maybe you could remove the broken stud, get a bolt that fits the shock (5/8" dia?) and is long enough to go through the shock and mount. Stick the bolt through the shock, thread a nut on the end then "screw" the bolt through the nut and into the shock mount and then put a nut on the bolt that came through the mount.
sorry im gonna hijack yer thread just a bit, hey mike, do you have a picture of what a stock shock mount on a 1978 f250 supercab 4x4 would look like? i just bought one from a guy and the PO had taken the stock mounts off with a torch and then hacked some crap together to make a very shoddy dual shock mount system for the front end. but both the shock mounts broke off and were in the back of the truck. i didnt want to turn down a great find just because of that so i figure o will just make something myself or find what i need. i am open to the idea of dual front shocks. it has a 4 or 6 inch lift on it and 35" tires. so the dual shock thing would look cool and also be beneficial im sure. i have no experience with dual shocks and very little with lifts. what do you think i should do?
OldStyle, thanks for posting that picture.
I was going to post the illustration from the Ford parts manual, that's when I found out that particular illustration is missing from my copy.
Thanks again
