For some reason the shift indicator on my 2011 350 has disappeared. The indicator that usually shows one through six, and tells you what gear the truck is in, is just not on my dash panel anymore. I told the local dealership about it today when I had oil changed and he tried to find it with no avail. Says its the first time he has ever seen or heard of it disappearing like this. Says he is calling in to Ford and trying to get to the bottom of it for me. Anyone else had this happen or heard of it?
I hit the plus to bring it back on if I accidentally turn it off. But if the dealer couldn't turn it back on it better really be something wrong in the computer or lights on the panel; otherwise you would need to slap some people silly.
I have never heard of that either though, weird eh?
Bingo!! Started it up, put it in drive, hit the plus on shifter and its back. Going to call the dealership tomorrow and tell him. Thanks for the directions.

Nooooo, please go there and give them a swift smack on the back of their head!! They are a Ford dealer and couldn't figure that out? Okay maybe I'm a little harsh but that is totally ridiculous!!!!!

This doesn't surprise me regarding the knowledge of some of the Dealers, not all, but many. When traveling one time, I stopped at a Dealer to ask about a very small problem. The diesel tech guy was in another world. He said what I'm describing was not mentioned in the 6.7 school and he had no idea what to do. It was obvious he and the service manager didn't know sheep ***** from raisins and I just left.

X2!!!! I am occasionally astounded in the lack of general knowledge some dealerships posses about the vehicles they sell.
I would go to the dealer and show them how to do it, then I would go out hunting for a new dealer who knows what their doing. Maybe this is the same dealer Rick got towed to !!
This happens to me occasionally, I am convinced that after a certain number of key on cycles everything resets. No loss of information, just a soft reset back to default screen.
