Agreed! One thing to consider where you mount the intercooler in relation to the pipes. I followed the link above, and the I/C pipes didn't fit. The pipes were designed for the I/C to be mounted higher, similar to the Hypermax install. This probably won't be an issue if you're going to fab up your own pipes...

Does anyone know the dimensions of these pipes on the banks kit? I'm curious as to what the larger and smaller pipe diameters are. If I ever get around to making intercooler pipes, I would want to go with this type of setup vs modifying the stock spider

I know the thread is 2 months old, but I don't suppose you'd mind posting up a link to this person? I've been searching high and low, and I keep finding the same thing "contact so and so, he makes them." And then a bunch of people say just build your own set of pipes and no one provides contact information.

I'm leaning towards a used 6.0 intercooler, they seem easy enough to come by, but I can't find the magical pipe kit. I don't mind fabbing them up if I have to, but I'd rather spend my time enjoying the truck than driving down to the in-laws-to-be to borrow garage time and welding stuff.

Heres a link to what the guy on PSN was building. Last i read he was trying to build them and sell them through a sponsor, if i have that right. 94-97 Intercooler Kit... - PowerStrokeNation : Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

Now he was trying to sell them through Paul (screen name BigStroker) who owns and runs Complete Performance in Texas Complete Performance - PowerStrokeNation : Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum . He is a sponsor on PSN and PSA, and probably many other sites. So i would just pm one of the and see whats going on with it.

Yup him too just tell him your setup, which spyder, tubro, IC, and motor you have and he'll build you some pipes for about $200.

I haven't purchased anything yet. I was trying to decide how much work would be involved with the project (compared to cost).

But I figure bigger is always better, and I've seen 6.0 intercoolers going for $200. I figure another $350 to 400 for piping (with spider). I'd be about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the Banks setup. Which I figure leaves some monies for gages and maybe...maybe tunes

Sorry for the thread hijack. I'll be contacting those people tomorrow. It's my day off. Thanks for the quick responses.
