Heater core differences
Well I got around to replacing the heater core on my 85 300/6 with a/c but have a problem. All the ones listed at the local parts stores do not fit. The one I pulled out has a rounded looking top and bottom while the replacements are all kind of square. Overall they are the same but because of the square top/bottom will not fit in the box. Anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

I found the following by doing some searching in the forum.
just wend thru the same thing on my 82. The autozone product would not fit due to the large rectangular tank on top. My original had two small humps on top so the spectra would not fit in the heater box. looked forever and finally figured out if you find a brass/copper one it will likly be correct. the aluminum ones will not. Rock Auto had the best price on the brass/copper replacement.
