Faint Squeal
Hello I have a 2009 XLT 4x4 and it has a faint squeal sound coming from somewhere.
I can only hear it with the window open driving between 20 to 50 Kph after that road noise is too loud.
First thing in the morning it is not there seems you need to drive for 10 to 20 Km before it starts.
Turning right it gets louder left it seems to go away.
Braking has no effect on the sound.
I have warmed it up in the morning and it still takes the same distance to squeal.
Had it in the dealer and they changed out a front wheel bearing but that did not fix the problem.
Had them service the brakes to rule that out too.
I am going to take it back in for round two and wondering if anybody has a direction I should point them in.

mine has that squeal also. Has 22000 km's on it. They say it is in the brakes because I don't use it enough (rusted??). Want 600. to replace rotors and pads. I will live with the squeal for that price. LOL.

I would have them replaced under warranty if that was the case.
i can live with the sound i just don't know what it is and what is might be hurting.
don't need to get stranded on the side of the road in the middle of winter.

Brakes are only warranteed for 10,000km. the first year. They say I'm out of luck. They did replace the upper ball joints, though. I had a ratchetting sound comming from the left front wheel. That was a broken vacuum line to the front hubs. I could only hear that when I was moving slow or if the window was down.
