Hey guys, bout to order a Lariot CC probably 4x2, 6.5 box, considering the HD payload option with 3.73 ratio axle. Using the FORD configurator looks like you have to get the limited slip axle to get HD payload pkg as opposed to the electronic locking axle. How do these two differ, and, any educated guesses of how fuel mileage will be affected with the HD pkg considering larger (9.75 I think) ring gear. Basically trying to set this truck up for optimal towing capacity and decent mpg when running free. Sure would be nice if the summary of the truck you just "built" included fuel mileage estimates for that specific setup. Thanks!
The electronic locker will lock both rear wheels to turn at the same speed when you engage it. It will automatically disengage at 30 MPH so you don't have to worry about it bringing down your MPG while driving. It is designed to use only at slow speeds.
What engine are you getting? I am not familiar with what you can and not get on the F150's, they have so many different models and different options for each.
You are correct, they should let you know what the mpg's are, at least for each engine.
Not trying to hijack this thread but I have an 09 FX4 with the 3.73 and gear locker and I am pretty sure my R/P is a 12 bolt 9.75". Do both the locking and limited slip in 12 bolt versions come as 9.75"?

I thought you got an 8" R/P unless ordering the HD payload package, so just concerned how fuel mileage would be affected, specifically on a 2 wd EcoBoost with 3.73/ max tow/HD pkg. Come on you gear heads, I know you're out there!
I can't seem to match your configuration on Ford's site but since the base gearing for the EcoBoost is 3.15 you will notice a drop in highway mileage for sure if you go to 3.73 how much I can't say but the difference is big enough that you would notice I would think.

Just to clarify, I was asking about the heavy duty payload pkg available on the Lariot Screw/2wd/3.73/6.5 box/EcoBoost. Thanks guys!
