so i am going to buy this super chips 1705 for 200 for the 7.3l from this guy, im not sure if i should and how do they hook up. the port for testing in the truck right?
I bought one from a LOSER on Powerstrokenation. for 100 bucks...Got it here and it was V.I.N locked. which means it was in his truck still....Becareful who you buy it from.
I bought one from a guy that used it on his 99. Luckily it was locked. However, for some reason, it really screwed with the shift points on my truck. My truck shifted super hard while it was installed. Caused my TC to slip. Ended up having to replace the TC. After the TC replacement, I put it back in, thinking that the TC was slipping anyway and I just didn't notice it. Same thing. Started shifting really hard again. REmoved it and the truck shifted just fine. Tried to sell it, no bites. Ended up giving it away to a buddy of mine that has a 99 Dually. He loves it and it Works perfect in his truck. I personally will never have another one. I will pay for a custom one when I'm ready for it.
Both our '95s have the OBD-II port. Or the 16-pin D-shaped port that resembles an OBD-II, to be exact. Just got an AE, and it talks to one truck, but can't get it to talk to the other yet.
I picked up a 1700 max microtuner a couple of months ago for $100 on CL. It has two tunes off road and tow, and stock. I was really hoping for more, but it should also read codes I haven't had a need for that yet.
