fuel leak quick ?????

fuel leak quick ?????

we have a old 95' farm truck that has been leaking fuel at around the filter area........seems like its leaking around the water sep. drain area. has this been a problem or??

That's a common problem you can get a fuel bowl rebuild kit from Dieselorings.com for around 15 bucks

What Mike is saying is a goos start and may be all there is to it. I would also check the fuel pump. Look to see if it is leaking at the weep holes. Clean the valley/pump the best you can and look for a leak with the inspection mirror while its running.

IIRC there are only one weep hole in the FP.
Also the bottom of the fuel canister can leak do to corrosion there.

Yep. Had that happen to me. Then 2 months later the fuel pump went out!

I just finished fixing a fuel leak on my truck today. Was the big o-ring in the bottom of pressure regulator..

That is not a common place for leaks, but you never know.
BTW I have to check the mesh inside there next time to see the crud there. (I have never done)

allways has fuel up and down the piece that is directly related (or the shaft) to the water seperator valve. thinking theres a oring or two in there by the way it looks?

The little valve with the yellow handle had two oring where it mounts to the fuel bowl and one or two inside the shaft

See here for the corrosion in the bottom and also could be other o-rings.

Ok im gonna have to have my fuel bowl rebuilt so to say just replace the o-rings is there a write up to this?

Yes. Here is the parts you will likely need. And instructions are on this site too!
Replacement O-rings for Ford Diesel Engines

There may be some extra parts that you might need. Guzzles will have them.
