I know the OE 6 CD changer isn't the best product and I am glad that I've gotten this far with it. At times, I've had to "help" it eject CD's but this time, it appears to be really hosed up. I did a search and read a lot of pages of stuff, but couldn't find anything about this problem.
The radio plays fine but if I hit the CD button, nothing plays. The display flashes but the dreaded CD Error comes up quickly. I've tried Ejecting and even loading, as I was able to get one CD out. The little door doesn't open on it's own but I can manually open it with a little screw driver.
Any ideas on how to reset it's brains? I'll accept it not working but I really want to get the CD's that are in there, OUT! Turning the unit off/on has no effect.
Totally removing and restoring power to it will reset it to where you might get the CDs to eject. I bought my truck used this summer and shortly thereafter had to replace my batteries. The unit showed two CDs inserted that it didn't before. I got them both to eject. Kinda like finding a bunch of change under the seat cushions.
