Tailgate Hinges
Hello there!! The drivers side hingecup on my tailgate has snapped off.. the part seems to be attached to a bracket that is spot welded on
this first pic is of the tailgate, the second is of the hinge cup that is supposed to be on the tailgate... this bracket is spot welded on, do I need to get a drill and drill out all the spotwelds to get the bracket off to change the hinge, or do they sell just the "Hinge cup" . a parts guy that i talked to had no clue what i was talking about...

why not take the cup off the truck spud, clean it up, flatten the back, set it on the tailgate and have someone with a wire feed welder put it back on... you could weld around the outside of the cup instead of the center.

That is what I will do, the cup is seized on the truck spud...i will just have to break it loose,... has anyone changed a windshield on these trucks? any tricks to it? I have changed em out on the 70's models, but nothing newer..
