Ok, so my 79 f100 has a tailgate on it from what looks to be an earlyer ford truck...im guessing maybe the 60's-earls 70's with large ford letters stamped into the metal. It fits fine, but when it is open it can slide side to side.....any ideas on what i would need to do to stop this? The tailgate hinges look fine, but i think the holes in the tailgate where the hinge slides into is deeper than the "stock" tailgate for this year truck. Anyone have pictures of earlyer tailgates that i could compare to mine to figure out what i have? Im out of ideas

Hate to say it but I think it's pretty common. I mean, it shouldn't float around, but if you want to move it around it's going to have room to "float". Mine does. Even my 70 Bronco does this.
