I got to start off by saying, I really love this truck. Just got it a week ago and couldn't be happier.
But... the headlights are dim. Not just inconvenient dim, but not usable at night dim. I flipped the highbeams on and adjusted them down to have some more light for now but this isn't a great fix. It's a 2000 but the front end has been updated. I pulled the bulbs out and they look new but the glass is all blue. Anyone guess whats going on here?
those are xenon bulbs, the PO probably bought some crappy cheap ebay ones that worked for a little, i would suggest replacing them, take a look at the brand, for example a good quality one would be the GE nighthawk, if they are generic, their probably ebay.
When I pulled them I was gonna google the model, but it was some generic brand that didnt turn up any results. The PO tried to tell me they were HID's and they needed a ballast or resistor or something soldered into the wiring to make them perk up. I looked at the plug and thought "that dont look like no HID plug to me", but I wasn't sure what was going on.
the p/o is a jack@$$ lol if he thinks those are hid, he needs a slap in the face, the bulbs for hid lights look MUCH different than regular ones, and you have alot more problems than just low light if you did'nt have a ballast

a jackazz or a liar, lol. Either way it looks like I need some new bulbs.
On a side note, can anyone identify that front end so I know what to get?
