alright...i just got my bronco painted and it looks great and everything, but my only concern is that the nasty headlights are killing the paint job's integrity. i dont have any cash on me right now, and i was wondering if there was something i could do to make the headlights clearer (short of spending $200 on new ones?)
You can clean them up by waxing them with simichrome polish, you can buy it at the autoparts. They still won't look good as new though. I'm going to buy a pair of stock reproduction headlights off ebay for $48.00 plus $15.00 shipping. A pair of the euro clear headlights are about $70.00 plus $35.00 shipping. I hope this helps.
You can use a plastic polish, available at most parts stores, or you can use automotive polishing compound. If you go the polishing compound route, be gentle and use plenty of water. If you are patient and persistent, you can make them look almost as good as brand new.
See my gallery for pics of my headlights after I got the yellow off with a special product. The web page is on the description of the picture. I do not work for these people or anything, but I can vouch that their product did a good job on my yellowed headlights.
The only alternative is to spend about $200 (with shipping) for a new aftermarket pair on eBay. It is doubtful that you will be able to find a good set in a boneyard, as they have all been in the sun for years just like ours.
I use PlasticX from Meguiar"s (about $5 a bottle). If it doesn't work as good as you think, Call Meguiar's and they will try to make it right by you. Or use a aluminum rim polish (Mothers Mag and Alum polish). It works, but not as well as the PlasticX
There is some stuff that honda sells and its called chrome polish something or other, but go to a honda dealership and look for something of the kind and it took all of the oxidation on my lights right off!
I dont really want to buy replacement headlights because they would have to have that chrome detail on it and that costs extra, so i think i'll try out chrome polish tomorrow. thanks all

I've seen them on eBay with and without the chrome, and they are cheaper without the chrome.
