Hey guys I have a couple questions if you can take a breath from discussing HPFP's.
First, does anyone know if the stock 20" Michelins off my 2011 will fit my 2009 20" rims? I assume they will, but the Michelins look so narrow compared to my 2009 20" rim?
Second, I want to put some Toyo MTs on my 2011. I have a stock FX4 long bed. I don't want a lift. Anyone know how big I can go without rubbing on the control arm?
I have Toyo MT 315/60/20's on mine and they just contact the control arm. 305's probably wouldn't but I need the E rating of the 315's. It's not a problem and I only noticed in parking lots when the tires were new.
Thanks Epic. I would like to have the heavier rating also for towing. I had these tires on another truck before and the sidewalls are heavy, great for being loaded down.
I don't have a leveling kit, think it makes a difference?
The vertical clearance is not a problem. These tires will work on a non-leveled truck. I leveled purely for aesthetic reasons and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I would. I figure that I really need every bit of traction I can get about 1% of the time. My concerns are mostly getting stuck with the trailer in sand or mud and there have been a couple of times that I just barely made it. Was the difference between a 305 and a 315 or was it just my incredible driving skill? I also remember something unique about the 315 size being able to hold more weight. Can't remember off the top of my head but that tire was right in the sweet spot for me.
I got mine at the local Les Schwab and they were more expensive. Great tire. I run them unloaded at about 52 psi and inflate to 65 which is the max when towing. I'm pretty sure they hurt mileage but it's worth it to me.
