I have had a Truxxx 2.5" leveling kit for about a year now and my stock tires are ready for recyling bin. I have been looking at the Yokahama Geolander A/T-S 315/70/17 for my stock rims. I was wondering if there are any issues to be aware of ? The leveling kit company states I can go with 35" but does not give width . I just conserned with rubbing issues , cause once I buy them thats it.......
a 35/12.5/17 will fit on your OEM rims...but it will be about 1/4" from rubbing the upper control arm at the ball joint with the tire sidewall. most A/T tires won't be a problem, but the M/T tires with aggressive side lugs have issues
look for a 35/12/17...but basically anything 12" wide or thinner and you'll be set. might have a little rubbing on lock to lock at the outer edges, but okay for normal driving
are you buying these online or at a local shop?
if a local shop, have them test fit 'em first. they shouldn't give you any issues since you're likely to be spending about $1,000 right?
I had them mounted and balanced today at a local dealer for $221.00 per tire. They feel pretty good , not to much noise however I only clocked 54 miles on these babies as of yet. Also checked for clearence issues every thing is good , Hard Left,Hard Right, but wow the tire does come about a 1/4'' from the upper control arm and I hope it stays that way !!!
