Can't drive it yet. how can I check the codes with out a scanner. The last time it only said the distributor.
Have you checked the contacts on the distributor, and the rotor button? If they are badly worn out, or have alot of corrosion, That may cause poor ignition. Which could possibly foul out the plugs.
The one near number one has one wire. The other one is on the opposite side of the distributor. And has two wires.
An fan relay sensor??? I dont know if the 88 had this or not. Others will have to chime in on this post. I know they had two sensors at some point Not sure if they all did. ECT/FRS
Have you pulled codes ? You do know my first post about the Temp sensor was a guess based of symptoms you were reporting. I was not shocked to find, you found, it not hooked up. BUT~ Again I only took a shot in the dark at where Id look if the codes didnt work for some reason.
I put a new cap and rotor on now it doesn't smoke as bad. I have also put a temp sensor and a fuel pressure sensor on it now the check engine light is on. When it does this the oil pressure drops to zero. This happens when it warms up
We need codes! Codes are your friend. Buy yourself a meter if the paperclip method doesn't work for you ($30). Also it's a good time to replace your plug wires, and double check their routing/firing order. Can't help you with the oil pressure problem, havn't had to dig into it yet. And pop your specs in your sig so you don't have to list it every time you start a thread.
