Dumb question........

I can not get 3rd gear on the upshift. I can only get 3rd if I go to 4th first then to 3rd (1st, clutch, 2nd, clutch, 4th, 3rd). The guy guy I bought the truck from said that is the way the transmission is. A guy a work said he may have lied to me anf I may have a linkage issue. W

Who is right?

havent found anyone that could answer my question about my tranny locally. Any of you guys have ideas?

Hey Scout, you might try asking this question down in the 61-66 section. Seems like the Uni section doesn't get as much traffic.

The guy you bought it from is a LIAR! Try double clutching when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, see what happens.

If this works (it should), it's not a linkage issue, the 3-4 brass syncro blocker rings are worn down to a nub.
