351 Windsor Headers

I have a 79 f100 with a 400 hp 351 windsor and I have looked through the forums here and cant seem to find a straight answer, Are there any long tube headers that will bolt on and fit?

The 351W wasn't factory for those years, so you'll probably have to use some shorty headers.

Is your truck a 2 or 4wd? Since the 302 wasn't in 4wd then none of them would fit.

The 351W is an inch taller (deck height) and a hair wider than a 302. That inch may make all the difference where the collector ends up. It could point directly at yer bellhousing's ears. I know of no bolt on 351W headers for this series BUT ya might want to check out 80-96 series headers.

OR.. (if you are so inclined) get a set of 302 headers and cut'em apart to correct the commensurate difference in height and splay. Meaning, it would require pie-cutting and extending the intermediate tubes to correct the angular differnces - the collectors would need to be kicked outboard. A bit of work but IMO, very doable.

Check post #21 in this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...headers-2.html for 302 longtubes that fit.
