speedometer quit , zf6 trans 2000 f450

hi , im wondering where to begin with this inop speedometer, all i know is the 4r100 stuff. does this zf6 have an output shaft sensor or is everything relavant to the vss on the rear axle? thanks, ROnjon

Check the rear end. I know the 1996 F350 truck I use to own had a speed sensor/pickup in the axle housing that used the square tooth ring mounted onto the ring gear carrier/center section.
