GAUGE INSTALLATION
I have a 93 f250 7.3 turbo diesel i was wondering where is a good spot to drill and tap the hole for my boost gauge. and also for my Pyro some people tell me the manifold others tell me the down pipe???? Answers are appreciated Thanks

If you have the factory turbo,there is a pipe plug in the intake snail for the boost gauge.
for the piro, drill and tap the exhaust manifold. There can be up to 500 degree difference between the manifold and the downpipe, with the downpipe being cooler.

I hear manifold because it's closer to the heads so it will give you a more accurate and a faster response on the temp coming from your cylinders but with the turbo I don't know the best way about going through the process because metal in turbo is a bad thing!

Take off the crossover pipe. Drill into the drivers side manifold right by the last cylinder. Tap the hole. You can clear any of the chips out by reaching in through the manifold outlet. For extra reassurance, start up the truck to blow anything remaining out. Reinstall the crossover pipe.
