So My truck looks to have a 351W in it by the casting # on the block, but from the vin# it looks like it came from the factory with a 360 F11YRV45801. If it came with a 360, then It probably had a C-6 I would guess? Is the suspension different in an FE truck over a small block truck? Did a lot of F100 trucks come with the 360? It's a short bed. Here is a picture of the truck.
A lot of 73-76 F series came with the 360. That's what yours had originally. The FE series (360-390) engines were dropped after '76 in favor of the 351M400's. That's definitely a small block in there now though.
They may have used a lighter coil spring for the front suspension with a small block but everything else was the same.
I didn't look lol I need to clean the engine compartment up and fix some issues with it. I will post some pictures of the engine and see about getting some help. I'm a body guy and not much of an engine guy.
That might be a newer Windsor due to the cuz of the 90-degree (vertical)angled water neck. Not sure about the dizzy cap. I'd love to know, as would others in FTE, if it's got headers..EDIT".. darn it... I see manifolds.
Nice rig and welcome to the shortbed 4x4 brotherhood.
He didn't say what year it was, but from the grille and trim it looks like a 1973-1975. I know that in 1973 one still got points...so no ignition module. I'm not sure when electronic ignition was introduced.
GORGEOUS truck!!!
That is a Keeper! If you ever sell that truck I predict it won't be long before you regret it. Short box 4x4s in that condition are very rare and highly desirable.
FYI...1974 was the first year for Duraspark. 'got Duraspark on my rig but some PO swapped the cab for a 73... prolly to get out of emissions testing back in the day cuz 73 and older was exempt... now it's 75 and older.
