I did a search on the fuel selector valves and confused myself. I found the valve in the LMC catalog part number 47-0917 for $49 for a 1975. And when I looked up the Ford part number on line several choices came up. One BMD valve was very similar but the others listed for Ford 74-94 and were double the price and looked to have a different wiring set up and looked more substantial.
Is the one listed in the LMC catalog the correct replacement valve for the 1975 F-250.

A photo would really help, i just used the LMC valve for my 1977 F250 and it worked perfect. It should only be one wire and it is hot when you switch to the aux. tank. The others may have added a ground the LMC just gets mounted to something grounded. Just follow the very simple instructions that come with the valve from LMC.

Thanks I will order the one from LMC and install it. I could not take a picture or even look at it because the truck is in Washington and I am in San Diego. I want to get the part before I go to Washington.

Are you sure the one you have is not working, what are the symptoms
I am going by what my daughter and brother in law have said. They did some jumping around the valve and are operating on one tank now. So faith is the best answer I have right now. And I am assuming it is an original and they do live in a pretty harsh environment of water and mud being thrown around the valve.
