Current valve
The plug going into my current valve
Hey guys,
I've been looking for a new fuel tank selector valve for my f250 I just snagged. All I can really find are the 6 pin valves where you gotta wire in the fuel switch and the one with a screw to wire up to.
My current valve has a single plug connecting to it. Would I be able to snip the plug off and splice the wire onto the valve with the single screw on it? I'd prefer it if I could find another part just like the one I have but unfortunately I have not been able to.
If anyone has any ideas better then my own that'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Pictures are at the top.

Hi - I had the same issue as you on my 1977 F-250. I had a hard time finding an original valve. What I ended up doing was buying a generic replacement valve, cutting the old electrical connector off of the old valve, and soldering a wire to the connector so I could leave the original connector in place if I ever found an original. Works fine. I used a dremel to cut the old connector off.
I do recomend checking to verify you have power to the wire when the switch on the dash is in the Aux position. I had a wiring issue so had to be sorted first.
Hope this helps.
