Hello,
so I just picked up a 99 f250 extended cab 7.3 4x4 for 5000 grand a couple weeks ago. Love the truck but starting looking into the aftermarket and now im confused so I need explanations.
Im a pre 99 build date before the cutoff for true 99 superduties. It seems like nothing works for early 99's and I cant figure out why. First whats the difference in the two trucks and what year specific would I look for afermarket parts for. Not even a 99 high flow intake will work on my truck. Was the design changed that much? What changed in the suspension as well? Seems like everythings a bit different!!!
thanks for the help!
Pre 99 truck...and 99
Track rod smaller. Can upgrade to newer unit. have to get new bracket.
rotors and front bearings different...$$$$$ Change to 2000 bearings and rotors..
Backing plates in rear different. Caliper dr side in front.
Thats all I know...There are quite a few changes concerning the engine...

Suspension stuff as mentioned, motor wise the same block, 15 degree HPOP vs. 17 degree late, slightly smaller CC injectors(AB's vs AD's), smaller turbo(reason for intake issues). All upgradeable though if desired.
So does anyone make a bolt on intake that would work? Is there a poor mans intake upgrade I could do? I'm not so worried about upgrading a track bar when I plan on running at largest a 35" tire. Really I'm trying to just do some basics to help gas mileage. Truck already has a shift kit and exhaust. Possibly its programmed but I'm unsure as it was bought at auction and I have no history from previous owner. It does seem a lot more peppier than other 7.3s I have driven
