Carpet

Spent the day fitting carpet (nylon backed) that I bought from a auto supplier. I chose to go this route since my pedals etc are not stock. I used velcro to fasen the carpet to my firewall cover (Komex PVC).
I edged all cuts with an old soldering iron, it melts really easy. Most of my cuts are hidden or in covered. I need to stetch the carpet over my indent in firewall, will use steamer. Melted carpet around steering column and dimmer switch. Not perfect but looks passible. I'll post pics later.
My tranny inspect cover is custom, so will resort to having it coverd by upholsterer, with stitched edge.

Great Mats

Can someone advise where to get the really cool Ford F100 floor mats in the pics of the carpets? What does ACC stand for? I bought replacement black carpet from LMC - it's pretty nice (sure smells better than the dog that must have died on the old carpet) and the edges were nicely trimmed for my '59. m Easy installation and I threw the thick soundproofing under it for good measure.

The mats I got from LMC have the nice lightning bolt logo but don't fit that well especially on the driver side.

Got mine from MId Fifty seem to fit really good. They will send you sample swatches if you ask them . I am we'll satisfied with mine. Some advice lay it out in the sun and let it flatten out, helps with it laying down in the cab.

Yes, those. Is the emblem stitched in? On the link, it kind of looks like its painted on.

Yes they are stitched and look very cool I thought. I am not smart enough or patient enough to post pics. on this site. Here is a link to pics of my truck. Down near the bottom is a pic of the floor mat.

I am just now working on my 52 F1 interior, bought carpet off the roll and it fits good but I have done something different. It lays flatter if it is cut around the transmission cover and it looks good. Now if I need to get in there for something I don't need to peel back the carpet
Can't seem to get the picture in but it is in my gallery.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

This is the trans cover I'm faced with, will I be able to form the carpet close enough to fit without wrinkles. I do have a console covering it as well. I want access to my battery and was thinking of the carpet LMC sells but not sure if there is a better choice, hopefully this thread will shine some light. I'm about to install the vintage air unit and was wondering also if the firewall should be covered before I do this, I wasn't planning to purchase the firewall pad just some carpet with the jute padding.
