I'm installing my optishift controller. It has the updated plug for the MLPS. The MLPS on my truck still has the old design so I'm trying to replace it. I took the bolts on each side ot the MLPS out and the nut on the end of the manual shift lever. The MLPS is loose but I can't get the lever off. Looks to me like it has to come off for the MLPS to slide off. I've done a search here and on oil burners as to how to do it but didn't really come up with anything other than threads saying to replace the MLPS.
That's what I was afraid of, I was hoping there was some magic little screw that I didn't see! Lol. I'll soak it with some parts blaster and let it set for a while and see what happens.
I got it off. It actually came off really easy! I guess because the last time I tried to take it off I soaked it in parts blaster and then never fooled with it again. New MLPS is on and in the process of installing the optishift!
Great. I hope you are going to keep us informed about how the install went. Also on setup and your impressions of it compares with stock.
And good luck with the install, hope it goes well.
