Stick shift lever removal problem
I have a 1998 F-150 with a 4.2l engine and I'm trying to get the upper shift lever off the lower one. The Chilton's I have says to remove two bolts to separate them but I appear to have a threaded stud with a nut on it. I've removed the nut but can't get the stud out even after putting vise grips on it. Am I going to have to find another nut with the same thread pitch to act as a jam nut on the original to get it out? I'm wondering if the stud has threadlocker on it. Thanks
